The standard measure is the wipe length, a straight line distance from the centre of the spindle to the centre of the blade mounting.

Newton meters (Nm) is the rated stall torque of wiper motors, single station motor options listed below.

  • 12Nm small systems typicaly for arms and blades up to 500mm
  • 30Nm medium duty typicaly for arms and blades up to 700mm
  • 50Nm medium / Heavy duty typically for arms and blades up to 1000mm
  • 80Nm Heavy duty typicaly for arms and blades up to 1500mm
  • 110Nm Heavy duty typicaly for arms and blades up to 2000mm

Radial / Pendulum arms are best on screens wider than they are tall. Pantograph arms are better on taller narrow screens. Typicaly the spindle will be close to the screen for Radial arm and further away for pantograph arm.

When the motor is turned off it electrically locks into the same park position. As opposed to non dynamic / coast to park where the motor coasts to a mechanical stop which can vary by a few degrees

length is based on the overall outer liner dimension

Pivot centre is distance between centre of spindle shaft and centre of drive link pin or ball

DIN, Tapered Knurl, or Drum are the arm connection sizes
